Tabata Workout

Since classes ended yesterday, I had planned to go to the gym today (usually I exercise in the dorm room on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I am not late for my early class), but it wasn’t too pleasant outside this morning and I wasn’t in the mood to walk around in the rain for 15 minutes.  So I changed my plan to do a 40 minute Tabata workout instead!

Before getting started, I had an apple with some almonds. I warmed up with so core exercises and some bodyweight exercises, like pushups, squats, and lunges.

Each move takes 4 minutes to complete the round, so this workout can easily be altered to fit your time needs.  You can also group moves into a round, for example do jump lunges and skaters for 8 rounds (4 each) or combine four moves, etc.  There is plenty of room for variation!

Once I finished and showered, I was extremely hungry so I chowed down on the overnight oats I had ready (thankfully)! Now it is back to studying, I really need to get serious about this!

What workout do you do when you don’t feel like going to the gym?

At home, I would use a workout DVD (sometimes here too but I don’t have much equipment).  Here at college, I usually opt for a bodyweight workout that requires little space and incorporates plyometrics to get an efficient workout without machines; other times I just go for a run outside.
