Yoga + Pilates Workout

I slept very well last night, but oddly enough less than my usual. As a result, I was up much earlier than I planned, but I went with it. I had a bowl of plain Greek yogurt with applesauce and some walnuts and got some work done before working out.

I had won a DVD from Health Magazine a month or two ago and never got around to using it; since I ran a half-marathon yesterday, I figured a restorative yoga session was definitely in order, so I popped the DVD in!

Kristin McGee's S3 Yoga and Pilates Video

I was pleasantly surprised with this video; I have had other yoga videos and find them to be pretty easy and more relaxation focused (which is fine if I want a stretch/relax session that day), but this got a sweat going! It reminded me of some of the outdoor yoga classes I have attended recently. It was faster-paced and much more challenging (I definitely have lots of room for improvement).

Let me tell you Kristin McGee is definitely called the “Bendy Girl” for a reason! (Definitely put me to shame!)  Since I don’t have weights in my dorm room, I opted to complete the warm-up, pilates-based segment, and yoga-based segment for a 50 minute workout.

After I quick shower, I made myself some pancakes using some of the leftover black rice, banana, and blueberries. Off to get some work done before the last full week of classes!

What is your preferred style of yoga?
