On the Ball

This morning I awoke with the same pain in the side/top of my foot. So you better believe I will be spending some quality time with this guy:

Tennis Ball

I have read that they are great for massaging your foot, but boy do they hurt!

So after a quick snack on a hard-boiled egg with some coffee, I popped in the cardio workout my brother pieced together for me over the summer that I had originally planned on doing Tuesday.

As usual, there was sweat on the floor and my abs were burning by the end (and it sure takes a lot for that to happen)!

Ultimate Beatdown DVD

That is the reason we decided to call it “Ultimate Beatdown,” very little rest in the video and every muscle gets worked to failure!  But it was great to get an hour-long workout session instead of intervals for once.

After a much needed shower, I was actually a little ahead of schedule and got to relax for about 5 minutes after eating some overnight oats for breakfast.  Today’s batch was made with a banana and some cashews and topped with almond butter.

Despite being alert this morning, I am having a lot of trouble focusing in class today–I think the semester is already over in my head. I am hoping to attend my school’s tree-lighting ceremony tonight before heading to a recitation, but that depends on how cold it gets: it is the same every year after all.  My freshman year I saw the tree-lighting in Rockefeller Center (it was actually warm that time), and ever since, I am booked on the day it happens, so glad to have had that experience!  I used to go in to see the tree every year with my family as a tradition, but not then.  That year I also saw one at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and at my college; it was a week of Christmas trees.  The lights are just so pretty and cheerful in the cold, dark winter!

What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?
